OWASP VITCC
Hello, readers!
OWASP VITCC is a nonprofit organization-cum-student chapter of the global cybersecurity community, OWASP, situated at VIT Chennai, India.
OWASP VITCC was formed in 2016 and ever since it has had only one aim,that is to spread awareness about cyber security and specifically about malware and ransomware threats in society and teaching them how to deploy counter measures through various events and undertakings. We majorly indulge in sharing our knowledge through our blogs (both on medium as well as on blogger) and CTFs, spreading cybersecurity awareness with our weekly news, infographics, quiz, and instagram reels, conduct various events like hackathons, design competitions, open-quiz, cybersecurity events and annual ICRTAC event of VIT Chennai and most importantly learn together and contribute to the open-source community with our projects.
With a member strength of more than 100, we have actually mentored more than 1500 students, completed 4 projects, and successfully conducted more than 45 events. Our organization stands with a Chapter Leader, Chapter Manager, and the sub-ordinating heads of various departments (Technical, Web-development, Design, and Operations). Each member is assigned certain roles and they regularly contribute for the development and growth of the chapter.
Apart from our technical involvement, we also organize bonding sessions, movie nights, and gaming sessions, and that really makes us an all-around community, isn’t that cool?
